Media
The UK Media sector has significantly evolved in the last decade. Whereas there is still a focus on advertising, there has been a transition into all things digital. We now cover a range of companies spanning online platforms, events, broadcasters, B2B, publishers and marketing services groups.
In conjunction with the Technology team, we host a successful annual TMT conference where we delve into thematic ideas in the combined sectors. Alongside this, throughout the year we host a number of smaller events such as the “Future of the car market” with the retail sector.

M&A – An indicator of confidence
Within the media sector, the B2B stocks – with their exposure to the highly disrupted event income – have been most heavily impacted by the pandemic. The share prices are still governed by investors’ perception of the pace of recovery; however, we see more confidence generally from management teams, evidenced not only by solid statements on trading but also the rising willingness to contemplate portfolio management.
