- Jim O’Neill is a crossbench peer in the House of Lords, chair of Northern Gritstone, and chair of the Northern Powerhouse Partnership. His previous roles include joint head of research at Goldman Sachs, chief economist, and chairman of its Asset Management division, as well as commercial secretary to the Treasury.
- We discuss how the BRICs—an acronym Jim coined in 2001—have developed over the past 25 years, and the challenges facing a world in which power and growth are shifting from West to East. We also explore the UK economy, Labour’s first year in office, and Jim’s work supporting economic growth and technological innovation in the North of England.
