The build up to peak has been much better for the retail sector this year, benefiting from favourable weather conditions, tighter stock control and less distressed markdown.
The key risk from here is how well retailers can contend with the balance of offline and online demand as well as how effectively the full price mix can be maintained. We expect a broadly positive set of updates in January and highlight our Christmas winners.
