Investment Banking Graduate Programme

Peel Hunt is launching its inaugural Investment Banking Graduate Programme to attract a select number of graduates into our Investment Banking department. A comprehensive training programme will be provided over the course of nine months to ensure the firm’s graduate intake is fully equipped to rapidly make a meaningful contribution to the firm’s Investment Banking operations. The Graduate Programme will commence in September 2023.

About the Investment Banking department

The Investment Banking department provides a full range of corporate advisory and broking services, whether this be guiding clients through transactions such as raising capital, either by way of an initial public offering or private financing, or buy-side and sell-side Mergers & Acquisitions. The firm is retained by over 160 public companies and undertakes multiple transactions every year across a broad range of sectors which provides Investment Banking analysts with significant exposure to the highly dynamic world of corporate life.

The Investment Banking Department is sector focused, operating across eight sector verticals (Consumer, Healthcare, Real Estate, Industrials, FIG, Investment Funds, TMT and Natural Resources), aligning the Investment Banking department to leverage Research analysts’ sector knowledge. Dedicated Equity Capital Markets/Syndicate, Debt Capital Markets, Private Capital Markets, Mergers & Acquisitions, Sponsor coverage and Investor Relations teams work closely with the sector teams in supporting the firm’s clients.

What we look for

Education

Successful applicants will likely be in their final year at university, or have already graduated, with a minimum upper second-class degree (2:1). 

Skills

They will be able to demonstrate a keen interest and understanding of financial markets, be highly numerate/analytical, motivated, a strong communicator and collegiate.

Experience

Previous relevant work experience / internships will also be an advantage but not essential.

Recruitment Process

First stage - Application

Applications are now open, please apply by attaching your CV and cover letter (please refer to the what we look for section above), as well as responding to the application questions. Applications are open from 22nd December 2022 until 31 January 2023. 

Second stage - Assessment

A number of applicants will then be invited to participate in a second stage process in February, which will be to complete an online assessment.

 

The online assessment will consist of logical reasoning, numeracy skills and personality tests. Peel Hunt are committed to identifying diverse talent whose values align with those of the firm.

Final stage - Interview

A final short list will be invited to our offices for in-person interviews commencing in March - April 2023.

 

The in-person interviews will provide you with the chance to meet senior stakeholders who will want to get to know you, understand what you can bring the firm and provide you with a broader understanding of the programme.
